ASSMANG, Black Rock Beneficiation Plant Case Study

The project encompassed the building of a beneficiation plant able to process up to 900 tons of manganese ore per hour in conjunction with TWP. Iritron did a complete electrical, instrumentation, control and communication system design and installation for the new beneficiation plant at BRMO.

ASSMANG, Khumani Case Study

Khumani, a green-fields open-cast iron ore mining project. The plant consists of a crushing, washing and screening plant with a jig beneficiation to process off-grade ore. Grading is done to split out lumpy, medium and fine products. Iritron was sub-contracted by DRA to do the ArchestrA implementation on the project. Iritron also played a major role in the Systems Engineering, Instrumentation Design and PLC Coding.

SISHEN, Project Case Study

Iritron built the control systems for a complete new iron ore crushing & beneficiation facility, doubling the size of the existing mine. This included control systems to operate feed bunkers, hoppers, washing and screening (sieves), slimes, thickeners, dewatering, process water, taster systems and product beds.

BASF, Sanders Arizona Case Study

Iritron did the automation (electrical, instrumentation and control system) for wet separation and drying and screening plants on a frac sands production facility. Frac sand is sand that is pumped into an oil well during a process called fracturing as a compound to enhance the drilling.

HVAC, Pamodzi Shaft 3 Case Study

The aim of this project was to automate the starting and stopping of an underground pumping station which consisted of twelve pumps. This was then ultimately to be used as a mechanism to reduce energy costs by starting/stopping these pumps remotely during off-peak times.

LAEZONIA Quarry Project Case Study

PPS, in their commitment to safety and continuous process improvement, expressed the need to upgrade two of their crushing plants. They wished to increase and stabilise their production and to adhere to the relevant Department of Minerals and Energy (DME) and Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) standards. We were appointed to design the electrical, instrumentation and control solution to upgrade both the Tertiary Road Stone and the Primary Sand crushing plants.

LUBUMBASHI, DRC - Slag Treatment Plant Case Study

The plant is highly automated to control many processes like material drying, slag feeding, fume extracting, electric furnace pressure control, power supply to the furnace, furnace cooling and much more. These processes are controlled by means of PROSCON distributed control system design by Outotech, Finland.
